Picking Up Steam

We just got back from (dare we say) Pittsburgh.  Totally kizmit trip.  There was a school woodshop closing down.  So, first, that’s simply another example of why the community (writ large) needs access to “shop class.”  Secondly, that also meant there were some pretty sweet industrial tools available on the cheap.  Here’s the mother load:

Not for the feint of heart.

That fellow weighed over 2000 pounds.  Get that on a palate and smoke it.
With a lift-truck and some local help in PGH, we returned to a great volunteer crew in Cleveland who helped unload and then with organizing the shop!  Scrapping ceilings, moving tools around – you name it!
If this kind of community energy is indicative on anything, I can’t wait until folks are actually in using the space…
